This Christmas, dlr Mill Theatre brings a delightful twist to the classic fairytale with Jack and the Beanstalk, written and directed by Geoff O’Keeffe.
“Fee, fi, fo, fum! I smell the blood of the kids in Dundrum.” The stage is set in the heart of Dundrum village, where the local dairy is facing tough times due to skyrocketing rents. Dame Trott, ever the resourceful matriarch, decides to make ends meet by becoming a personal trainer. If posing on treadmills for Instagram content were an Olympic sport, she'd take home the gold. Meanwhile, her well-meaning but hapless son, Jack, is tasked with selling their prized cow—who just so happens to be bestie, Winnie the Moo. But what could possibly go wrong?
Audiences are invited to join Jack, along with the girl of his dreams, Jill, on an unforgettable adventure of magic beans and towering beanstalks, as they navigate their way into the clouds. Their journey takes them head-to-head with the villainous Stinky McRinky and his sidekick, Nuggets the Chicken. And just when they think things couldn’t get worse, the biggest and boldest Giant roars to life!
