Ireland's No. 1 FREE magazines for parents & teachers of primary school children
DK has launched the Stay Home Hub, an exciting new resource offering ideas and inspiration for adults and children available for free on DK.com.
Whatever your situation during this unprecedented time, DK’s Stay Home Hub offers informative and inspirational resources for people of all ages, with a focus on home learning tasks for children and activities for adults. Whether you are a parent needing school resources and ideas to keep little ones busy, or if you’re trying to make the most of this time by taking up a new hobby, experimenting with new recipes or looking for new ways to keep fit, DK is here to support you, everyday, wherever you may be in the world.
Parents and children can explore the Home Learning for Kids page which is full of downloadable activity packs to make homeschooling more manageable. From core subjects like English, Maths and Science to more creative activities, there is something for everyone across all age groups. There are also lots of creative packs to download taken from our popular children’s books, including Jess French's Book Of Brilliant Bugs, Professor Robert Winston’s Science Lab, plus fun games and activities from our LEGO® books, to name a few.
For adults, The Home Activities for Adults area is a space to feel inspired, mentally stimulated and physically active, with cooking ideas, exercise tips, DIY advice, gardening inspiration, and boredom busters. If you’re looking for mealtime inspiration, no fuss dishes for the family and batch cooking recipes from Mary Berry and Chris Bavin are available. Those wanting exercise tips, 7 Minute Body Plan author Lucy Wyndham-Read shows you how to keep fit at home, plus health and exercise advice from DK’s other popular fitness and yoga books.
For people wanting to use this time to get their garden ready for warmer weather, a huge range of DK’s RHS endorsed gardening content is available, with authors such as Huw Richards, James Strawbridge and Adam Frost offering expert advice around what to plant when, growing veg and creating the best outside space for you.
In addition to this great content and resource, DK’s authors and experts will also be sharing daily videos on DK’s Instagram account (@DKbooks). Join Lucy Wyndham-Read for a 7-minute workout, draw along with illustrator Jonny Lambert, and learn top freezer tips and food storage ideas with Chris Bavin. Top authors including Carol Vorderman, Professor Robert Winston, Huw Richards and Jess French, plus education experts from DK’s extensive children’s list, will be sharing home learning videos, family fun activities, cook alongs, quick exercise routines and gardening ideas to keep people motivated and inspired during this challenging time.
As the weeks progress, new resources will continue to be added to the Stay Home Hub, and there will be a new author video on @DKbooks every day. The Stay Home Hub is hosted on DK.com and can be found at www.dk.com/stay-home-hub
