Kieran Crowley is a children’s writer from Mallow, Co. Cork, and is a past pupil of St Pat’s National School. He worked for Aer Lingus for many years but was never allowed to fly a plane. When he realised he wasn’t going to become a famous detective or a professional footballer he decided to write mystery books and sports stories instead and now writes for children in the 9-12 years age group.
His first book Colm & the Lazarus Key was nominated for a CBI Book of the Year Award and The Mighty Dynamo - a story about a boy so desperate to play professionally that he forms his own soccer team - was shortlisted for the Hull Children’s Book of the Year Award in 2017. His latest novel is The Misfits Club, a comedy-adventure story about three boys and two girls who attempt to solve a mystery. The book is in the spirit of The Goonies & The Famous Five.
Kieran is represented by the literary agent Marianne Gunn O’Connor who numbers Pat McCabe, Cecelia Ahern and Shane Hegarty among her clients. He is available for school and library visits.
