Family Friendly Events at Cork on a Fork Fest

Play streets, Family BBQs, a Bread and Butter Making Workshop,  Family Pizza making Workshop and more for families.

Cork on a Fork Fest is calling on food loving families to put a tasty date in their diary this week! The brand new 5 day food festival, which kicks off on Wednesday, aims to be as inclusive as possible and has a fabulous family offering for younger budding foodies.  It’s a great way to make the best of the remaining summer holidays!

Butter Making Family Workshop at Cork Butter Museum

Families can watch the butter making process and make fresh bread at this free outdoor demonstration at The Butter Museum on the Wednesday 17th August from 11.30am-1.00pm.  Celebrating one of the great success stories of Ireland, the butter trade, The Butter Museum is located in the historic Shandon area of Cork city. This event is  free and no booking is required but it is weather dependent. thebuttermuseum.com

 

Family Pizza Making Workshop

Learn how to stretch and top pizza with some of Oak Fire Pizza's chefs at the Marina Market on Thursday 18th August between 11am and 12pm. In this hands-on workshop, kid's will make their own pizza which will then be cooked for them so they can taste their amazing creations! Booking is essential for this activity, which takes place at Oakfire Pizza’s Marina Market Location, the workshop costs €12 and includes a 7 inch pizza.  For more see oakfirepizza.ie/bookings

 

Play Lunch on Caroline Street

On Friday 19th August from 2-4pm you can enjoy lunch on Caroline Street while children young & old have lots of fun with Let’s Play Cork activities & games including giant Jenga, connect four, balance board games, tug of war and much more, all facilitated by an experienced coach.  The play activity is free, allowing children to have fun while adults enjoy lunch in one of the restaurants nearby. Play tutors will be there to assist but please note this is not supervised play and parents need to be mindful of this throughout the session.

Family BBQ and Play on Beasley Street

On Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st August, enjoy a Beasley Street Family BBQ at the Maldron South Mall from 1-5pm.  The BBQ starts from €8pp. Let's Play Cork ambassadors will be on hand to transform Beasley Street into a Play Street from 2-4pm.  Children young and old will have lots of fun with giant Jenga, connect four, corn hole, balance board games, colour catcher games, tug of war and more.
